Film and Polaroid Cameras refurbished, vintage, and new from Brooklyn Film Camera at the Brooklyn Flea
Two weeks ago, James and I wandered through the Brooklyn Flea. We shopped among the vintage and handmade vendors and ate as many cold and liquid things we could to stave off the heat. Just as we were heading home, James spotted the beautiful display of Polaroid cameras under the Brooklyn Film Camera tent.

When I see a Polaroid camera, I am instantly transported back to the early 1970’s when my teacher would bring his camera to school occasionally. He’d take our picture and hand us the damp bit of photo paper. We would have to hold our pictures by the edges and wave them around till the image emerged. It was a bit of a miracle to us. A printed photograph today is as rare as a Polaroid camera!
Brooklyn Film Camera refurbishes and sells Polaroid cameras, twin lens reflex cameras, vintage film cameras, and actual film. They have a charming and intriguing selection of cameras on Saturdays at the Brooklyn Flea in Fort Greene and online, and a smaller collection is available at the Bushwick Community Darkroom. You an also rent their Polaroid photo booth service, including a professional photographer, for the best party favor ever!
