Chelsea Market is one of the most amazing food emporiums in the world. I go there whenever I get the chance, to grab a bite to eat and stock up on everything from nuts and veggies to handmade pasta dried at the foot of Mt. Vesuvius and a glorious loaf of bread or two.
There is food to eat right then and there, including whole lobsters and handmade candy bars, as well as many products to take home and cook for dinner. Also, the Manhattan outpost of Artists & Fleas, a brilliant artisan and vintage market, is open at the 10th Avenue entrance to the market.
The Chelsea Market building is the old Nabisco Factory, and it is the birth place of the Oreo Cookie. With a legacy like that, how could it be anything but an exciting and beautiful food market?
Visit Chelsea Market 7 days a week at 75 9th Avenue in Manhattan, 7AM – 9PM Monday – Saturday and 8AM – 8PM Sunday. And let me know what you ate there!
