Fresh Mint To Cool Off Your Summertime

Fresh Mint Treelicious ORchards

One of my very favorite things in the world is mint iced tea. I make a pot of strong black tea, usually English Breakfast Tea, and steep it with a few sprigs of fresh mint. I then get out a big mason jar, fill it halfway with the hot tea, add as much sugar as I dare, and fill it up the rest of the way with ice cubes. I stir it up, pour it into a glass and repeat all afternoon long.

I’m traveling home today from visiting my mom in San Diego, but I’ll add a picture of my favorite mason jar tomorrow. It was wonderful to spend time with her here in the glorious weather. But it’s always great to get home.

My latest bunch of refreshing mint leaves comes from Tree Licious Orchards out of Port Murray, NJ. They travel to markets around the region, and we get to see them Fridays at the Union Square Greenmarket.

Happy Summer!
