ID Pop Shop is open in Chelsea Market this month through Sunday, April 10, 2016
Can you imagine meeting the person who designed your beautiful moonstone wraparound necklace? Or your perfect cashmere coat? Or your incredible leather handbag that strangers admire in the street?
What’s that? You don’t have any of those things?! Well, you can find them and much more this week through Sunday at ID Pop Shop!
Curated by designer-entrepreneurs Barbara Wilkinson and Raoul Calleja, ID Pop Shop is a pop-up shopping event for fans of locally made, style-defining jewelry, apparel, accessories, and art. This month’s event is open in Chelsea Market this week daily from Monday, April 4 – Sunday, April 10th, 2016.
Wilkinson of Barbara Wilkinson Jewelry, and Calleja of Vernakular Photo Designs launched ID Pop Shop in June of 2011 by assembling their unique network of talented independent designers to present their trend-setting products to the public. They have held over 40 pop-up events since then, each one featuring a new and exciting mix of fashion, art and decor.
During the April event, customers can shop for unique handmade hair accessories by Dora Marra of HeadDressNYC, fine contemporary jewelry by Studio DuArte and and Pauletta Brooks, organic skincare products by Malaya Organics, and mass transit art from LinePosters. The collection also includes handbags, graphic tees, accessories made from cork, and much more.
“ID Pop definitely fills a much-needed niche in the NYC retail environment,” says Wilkinson. “The pop-up is a win-win for both the designers and for people who value high quality and innovation in fashion and design.”
After you visit ID Pop Shop, stop for a snack in the newly opened food court inside Chelsea Market, including Li-Lac Chocolate’s newest shop. Pick up some tasty cocktail mixers and many other wonderful gourmet products (and gift baskets!) at Chelsea Market Baskets. At the far end of concourse is Artists & Fleas, the Manhattan location of the exciting market featuring handmade artisans and fine vintage collections.
