My wonderful friend Rhonda Kave, Confectioner and Owner of Roni-Sue’s Chocolates, obviously knows what we all love and what we need: Bacon, Coffee and Chocolate.
Putting her wisdom to task, she first invented BaCorn, “sweet caramel corn with savory flecks of bacon mixed in.” Mario Batali says, “This honey-and molasses-dipped, salty-smoky-sweet confection will make you wonder if there was an eighth day in the creation myth.”
And now she has invented MoCorn, mocha caramel popcorn with candied espresso beans.
Here’s what’s in it: espresso beans from Porto Rico Importing Co., locally grown ‘hull-less’ popcorn, cultured butter, brown sugar, agave, espresso, sea salt & drizzled with Rhonda’s single origin dark chocolate from Belize.
I tried MoCorn at the recent Chelsea Bazaar. How can it not be as tasty as it sounds with all those luscious ingredients? It’s totally tasty! And definitely another reason to believe there may have been an eight day.
Visit Roni-Sue’s Chocolates, and Porto Rico Importing Co. too, at the Essex St. Market, the historic food market on the Lower East Side. And follow Roni-Sue on Facebook too!
Thank you for making dreams come true, Roni-Sue!
