Brightly colored nasturtiums are a wonderful addition to early summer salads. Right now in the Union Square Greenmarket, Oak Grove Plantation is selling bright orange and yellow nasturtium plants. It turns out that the velvety green leaves are edible too, with a tangy, spicy flavor.

Bonus: Here’s a colorful plate of sushi with edible flower sushi from Sakura Hana, our favorite sushi spot. We’re there pretty much every single Friday. If you’re ever in the neighborhood, stop by for a Karen Roll.
