Valentine’s Weekend Market Picks February 14 & 15, 2015

Daly Pie Caramel Apple Pie

Caramel Apple Pie from Daily Pie

I had the great good fortune recently to be invited to a wonderful dinner party with creative entrepreneurs, mostly from the markets. (Thank you, Heartbeat!) But wait – it gets better! I sat myself down next to Meghan Daly, the founder and owner of Daly Pie.

Meghan grew up in a family of pie lovers. Her mother was her inspiration for starting her own pie company, despite a successful corporate career. She has never been happier — you can tell by the way her pies look and taste.

The Caramel Apple pie she brought for dessert is inspired by traditional caramel apples. You can see the chunks of apple floating in gooey salted caramel and garnished with peanuts. You can also see the gorgeous crusts, all made by hand and lovingly smoothed and creased to perfection.

You can get your own slice of any Daly Pie pies every Friday and Saturday at the Brooklyn Night Bazaar, or at several coffee shops in the city.

Meghan is planning to open her own pie shop in 2015. For the love of all things pie, please support her Kickstarter campaign!
