Recently at the Spring Fair Made in NYC, I was in dire need of a snack, a state in which I often find myself. Luckily, the next thing I came upon was a cool chocolaty sample of LazyLooz no-bake biscuit cakes. It was fantastic.
LazyLooz is the brainchild of Rakan Ammouri, based on a snack his mother used to make for her kids. LazyLooz are no-bake snack cakes made essentially from biscuits and chocolate, along with other ingredients as desired, such as coconut, peanut butter, coffee or orange zest. One package of LazyLooz includes six satisfying bite-sized pieces.
I brought home a chocolate chip LazyLooz and placed it in the fridge. After a dinner, I brought out a lovely pot of tea and the cold Looz. My husband enjoys all the treats we find in the markets as much as I do. This time was no exception. He took a bite of LazyLooz, closed his eyes and said, “Wow. That’s good.”
In addition to the gooey texture and the luscious, comforting flavors, I love that you can serve LazyLooz frozen, chilled or room temperature. Each temp produces a different experience, although mostly textural. Regardless of how cold or warm they are, however, LazyLooz taste like home.
And now they deliver! If you’re lucky enough to live in their delivery zone, get on the phone and order up a few Looz. Otherwise, I’m thrilled to say that we can find LazyLooz in the West Side Market, which, conveniently, is exactly midway between my office and my gym.
