Hello Market Friends! Where has the time gone?! I never intended to leave my blog simmering for two years, and yet here we are! As you may know, I became editor-in-chief for North America of a wonderful guidebook series for locals and experienced travelers, 111 Places That You Must Not Miss. (Our books are the perfect thing for staycations these days!) It has been a fantastic experience - a dream come true! And also extremely busy.
I was able to keep up with our markets for a couple of years, and then I let up for a minute...
But I'm back now! And it was high time I launched a new website. This new platform offers so much more flexibility then the previous one, and I'll be adding new features to the site as I think of them. You can still find see all the previous postings, and I'll be doing many more.
The coronavirus has created many hardships for artisans and entrepreneurs around the world, so I'm hoping to help promote the markets and all the vendors in any way I can with this new website. If you have products or stories you'd like me to know and write about, please send me an email, and we can talk!
My husband James and I have been quarantined just like all of you for far too long, and yet not long enough. But I've been so grateful to Artists & Fleas, GrowNYC, Down To Earth Markets, Essex Market, and all the others for figuring out how to keep our artisan, farmer, food, and flea markets open and safe. And I'm grateful to every single person who wears a mask in the markets and also in the streets and stores around town. Working together and supporting each other is our super power here in New York.
I'm so happy to have a new blog to play with, and I hope you'll stop by frequently to see what's new. Love,
Karen Seiger
